The Quadrante Europa Urban Park covers an area of 70,000 square metres. Originally, the site was a disused quarry that had been abandoned for approximately 20 years and included a small lake covering 6,000 square metres.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
In the coming years, the planned expansion will increase the park’s area to 100,000 square metres. The site has been redeveloped by Consorzio ZAI to create a public green space serving the city, local sports associations and, in particular, residents of Verona’s 4th District.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The entire park is enclosed by fencing and has two entrances: one for the public and park users, and another reserved for maintenance personnel.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Three routes, covering a total of 3 km, have been created within the park, offering different levels of difficulty: a route along the lake, an intermediate route and a route at road level.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The 1,000-metre intermediate route has been paved and lowered to minimise its environmental impact. It is designed for both walking and cycling.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The park features benches and litter bins in designated rest areas, while the circular cycling track is fully illuminated.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
A small wooden building equipped with toilets and lighting has been installed at the entrance.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
The lake is protected by an internal safety fence and is home to a reed bed of considerable ecological value.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
Consorzio ZAI has planted new trees and enhanced the existing vegetation. The park now includes 10,000 square metres of tree-covered areas, alongside naturally occurring vegetation and approximately 30 tree species.<\/p>\n
<\/p>\n
A dedicated car park covering 2,600 square metres, with space for approximately 250 vehicles, is planned for a later phase. It will be connected to the cycle path from the Santa Lucia area. A public car park is already available adjacent to the park.<\/p>\n
